Thank You, Bouley

Number one senior Noah Bouley is a 5’6” centerfielder from Champlin, Minn., and a sports science and leadership major with a minor in Spanish at Viterbo. He has been a member of the Viterbo men’s baseball team and has formed many bonds with the other team members, from bus trips to hotel experiences and in their games as well.

When asked what he was going to miss the most about Viterbo he said, “Seeing my friends every day. The guys on the team are who I consider my best friends. Also, campus is small enough so that I usually saw people I knew besides teammates most days.”

His collegiate baseball career began in 2016 and consisted of him appearing in 33 games, while starting 17, tallying ten hits and 22 runs scored, 15 walks compared to the 13 strikeouts, and also had five hit by pitches (HBP) for an on base percentage (OBP) of .392%. Holding the team’s best for stolen base attempts, which he went eight for eight in.

When I asked Noah what kept him motivated throughout his four years, he said, “Being able to play the game of baseball for another four years pushed me to try to be my best before it was all over.”

Which he did, continuing to thrive in his 2017 season, starting in 41 games, 39 of those being in centerfield. He recorded 26 hits including four doubles and a triple, which held him to a tie for the team high of 29 runs scored, while also driving in 11 runs. He also drew 24 walks to go along with an eight high by pitch count for an on-base percentage of .363%. He continued stealing bases and led the team with six stolen bases. He had four multi-hit games including a pair of three-hit contests and ended the year with an eight-game reached safety streak.

In 2018, he continued to appear more, increasing to 53 games while starting in 50. He led the team in this with 46, and in those hits recorded 5 doubles, 3 triples, and one homerun. He ended the year on fire going 3-2 with 3 runs scores, 2 runs batted in, and one walk in the season’s final game against Valley City State on May 5, 2018.

Though Noah does not plan on continuing baseball after his time here at Viterbo, his future plans off the field are to work with athletes and to continue making them better. Post-graduation he is looking to join the strength and sport performance field. Noah wants future players to remember one thing: “Four years may seem like a long time, but it goes in the blink of an eye. Live in the moment and soak everything in.”

We thank you Noah for your time here at Viterbo University, on and off the field. Continue doing great things.
