The Lumen Online

Many people are unaware that the Lumen has an online addition. Along with this online addition, there are several ways of finding the newspaper on social media. Even though the Pinterest page has met its end, the Lumen has an Instagram and Twitter account. On Twitter, there are brief updates about classes, events, weather, and cancellations.

If there are positive, creative, funny messages that students would like to share with the Viterbo community, they need only send their ideas to the private messaging on Twitter or send an email to the social media coordinator.

The Lumen is also introducing a new idea called Student Spotlights on Instagram. Student Spotlights gives the students of Viterbo a chance to give praise and to be recognized. Everyone has a friend who goes above and beyond the call of duty; someone who is always there to help, doing more than what is expected of them, and living life with passion and an open heart. Student Spotlights are about giving praise to the underdogs. The student in question will need to give consent for their picture to be used, but they will not know who has nominated them.

The idea behind this new project is to connect Viterbo students and to help them become more familiar with their peers. In pushing this forward, the hope is to create a united community with a firm foundation in love, appreciation, and fellowship.
