Student Who Reminded Professor About Homework Mysteriously Murdered

In a tragic case earlier this week, freshman Viterbo student Justin Mikkers was mysteriously murdered after class. Viterbo professors were at a loss to explain how or why Mikkers, always a very eager pupil, should have been found murdered in the courtyard midway through Tuesday morning. The tragic scene was, coincidentally, discovered just moments after Mikkers reminded his professor, who had completely forgotten, that there was homework due that day in class.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that Mikkers had a very uneventful morning prior to his tragic death. He ate breakfast in the cafe, stopped by the front desk to pick up a letter from his parents and then headed off to class. Everything seemed to progress normally until 8:55 AM, when his professor released everyone from class, apparently completely forgetting about the sizeable and difficult homework assignment that was technically due that day. As his classmates hurriedly packed their things and made their way to the door, Mikkers raised his hand and said, quote, “Did you still want us to turn in problems 1-50 today? Remember, you assigned it over spring break and it was due this morning in class? Remember?”

Mikkers classmates grew strangely quiet as their professor thanked Mikkers for remembering and asked everyone to hand in their assignment. Reports suggest that Mikkers left class in full health. However, five short minutes later tragedy struck, as his body was found lying at the bottom of the Murphy stairwell.

Mikker’s classmates declined to comment.
